“I was frustrated and felt like I was at a dead end. I was barely making it. I felt sick and ashamed to be living in the richest country in the world, yet barely being able to make ends meet,” remembers Gurpreet Singh. She was also $40,000 in debt when her father invited her to an Opportunity Meeting. “All of a sudden, there was hope,” she says.
“My first feeling of freedom was being able to pay off all my debt from the money I was making working part-time,” Gurpreet recalls. “Then we had our son and I had the freedom to be able to be with him for as long as I wanted and still grow my business.” Soon afterwards, Gurpreet’s husband “fired” his boss and joined Gurpreet in her Primerica business. Because of their success, today the Singhs are now able to meet all of their parents’ financial needs. They’ve also started a foundation to help orphaned children in the U.S. and India, and have started an educational program in their neighborhood to teach children about finances.
